If Trump thought Biden’s ouster would help him in Pennsylvania, he’s wrong, as Kamala Harris is tied with the former president in the Keystone State and Gov. Josh Shapi Josh Shapiro is also popular.

The race is similar to where it was in April, when Biden and Trump were tied at 48-48%. The survey, released Friday, showed Harris and Trump tied at 49% to 49%, which was little different from the final 2020 election results (Biden at 49.85%, Trump at 48.69% ).

The expanded vote shows Harris leading by 2 points: Harris 45%, Trump 43%, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 7%, Jill Stein and Cornel West 1% each. Third parties hurt Trump here, as 10% of his supporters in both directions supported someone else, compared to 7% of Harris supporters.
Voters are split on Harris: 49%-49%. Still, people view her better than either Biden (41% approve, 57% disapprove) or Trump (46-53%).

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, widely considered a potential running mate shortlist for Harris, received a 61 percent approval rating, the highest of any individual tested. , his approval rating increased by 10 percentage points.
Shapiro also beat Trump in the head-to-head matchup 54%-44%, while among voters who disliked either candidate, Kamala Harris led by 41 points, more than Joe Biden did in the White House. This group outperformed the state by 14 percentage points.
There has been much speculation about who Harris should choose as her running mate to balance the vote. The reality is that picking Mark Kelly, Roy Cooper or anyone else won’t give Harris the same Electoral College vote-rich swing states that picking Josh Shapiro would.
The Trump campaign was concerned that Harris would choose Shapiro and exclude them from Pennsylvania. If Pennsylvania isn’t the right state for Trump, the former president would actually have to compete with other battleground states to win the White House. Harris’ team has reportedly completed background checks and has entered the political vetting portion of the process.
Fox News polling shows that Biden dropping out of the race will not help Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, and he could lose the state if Kamala Harris adds Gov. Josh Shapiro to her ticket.
