Hello friend! You may remember that last fall I shared a five-day meditation and writing challenge hosted by Tiny Buddha contributor Nadia Colburn. This month she’s back with another free meditation and writing challenge, this one designed for the New Year with a focus on transformation, and I highly recommend it!
Nadia, founder of Align Your Story, an online creative writing school, is a poet, memoirist, and yogi with a gift for helping people create inner peace and access their most authentic voice.
That’s why I love her challenges—they allow us to reject the mental noise that causes stress and confusion and tap into our intuition and creativity.
Each day’s fifteen-minute recording includes a short meditation, an evocative poem, and prompt-based writing exercises inspired by the day’s work.
Although meditation practices vary, they all allow me to quickly gain calmness and focus. These poems and prompts are perfect for this season of transformation, as many of us are seeking to escape the clutter and create positive change.
Like last time, I recognized common themes in my writing—obstacles I needed to address, fears I needed to face, beliefs I needed to challenge, and truths I needed to accept.
The last few months have been particularly overwhelming as I have faced huge challenges in every aspect of my life and I often feel lost in a haze of my own thoughts. Every day’s challenges provide me with new aha moments and give me hope that a clearer future is on the horizon.
You don’t even need to consider yourself a writer to enjoy this challenge and get something out of it. It’s for those who want to connect more deeply with themselves and maybe find in their own inner silence some of the answers they’ve been seeking externally.
Some of Nadia’s past participants have noticed how easily their writing flows after meditating and how the prompts can bring them unexpected insights.
If you decide to try this challenge, I have a feeling it could do the same for you. You can access it for free here.
Happy writing!
