A Georgia man was arrested after admitting to burning down a trailer containing his stepmother because she refused to sell it, according to police.
Two Rome police officers responded to a fire at 11 Addington Court late Saturday night after receiving reports that a woman was trapped inside a trailer on the property, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Police said flames were coming from the roof and around the front and back doors, preventing them from entering.
The outlet said that when police arrived, 55-year-old Edward Lary, his 26-year-old son Timothy Edward Lary, and their neighbor Quentin Patrick, 30, were Quentin Patric Ealy is outside the trailer.

“He set the fire and my wife was in there. I want him to go to jail,” Edward Lary, who lived in the trailer, allegedly told police, pointing at his son.
Police then asked Timothy Edward Larry if he set the trailer on fire, Fox 5 reported.
“Yes, I did,” he allegedly replied.
Timothy Edward Larry was subsequently arrested by police.
Edward Larry told police his son’s mother owned the land and had been leasing it to himself and his now-deceased wife. He said his son suggested his mother sell the land and give him the money.
Timothy Edward Larry allegedly told his father and stepmother that he was going to burn down the trailer while they worked. Edward Lary told police his son then lit a pile of papers on fire and threw them onto a mattress in his room, starting the fire.

Edward Lary said he believed his wife was behind him when he ran out of the trailer, but when he ran out of the trailer he realized she was still inside. He said he believed she ran back inside to try to rescue their cat and two dogs, Fox 5 reported.
Firefighters found the bodies of the woman and three pets inside the home.
Police reports say a small lighter and a small amount of marijuana were found on Timothy Edward Larry when he was arrested. They also obtained a search warrant for the home.

Police said that as Timothy Edward Lary was being led away from the scene, he looked back at the trailer and allegedly said, “Yeah, let him take your ashes.”
Timothy Edward Lary was charged with felony murder, neglect of a disabled person, elderly person or resident, three counts of animal cruelty, three counts of first-degree arson and two counts of aggravated assault.
