The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is calling on President Biden to drop out of the presidential race after his crushing defeat at Thursday night’s debate.
The AJC editorial board published a front-page editorial Sunday arguing that Biden should withdraw from the election “in the interest of the country” and defeat former President Trump.
“It is now necessary for President Biden to retire,” the board wrote.
They believe Biden failed to convey “a competent and coherent vision for America’s future” during Thursday’s first presidential debate in Atlanta.
“He failed to outline the most fundamental aspects of his platform,” they wrote. “He failed to take credit for the significant accomplishments of his 3.5 years in office. He also failed to counter his opponent’s prevarications, which he did 30 times during the debate, according to CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale. Lie, approximately once every 90 seconds within the allotted time.
