The relationship between caddies and golfers is more than just friendship, Grayson Murray’s caddy Jay Green misses his companion after the PGA Tour star dies by suicide, his family confirmed Sunday This news.
Murray’s parents, Eric and Terry, released a statement confirming that their son, a two-time PGA Tour winner including this season’s Sony Open winner, was on the road a day after completing his second round at Charles Schwab on Thursday. Six “suicide” challenges.

“G Money, you are the best,” Green wrote in his post, which included a photo of the two of them kissing the Sony Open trophy. “I love you, brother. I miss you already. Thank you for the memories. May your soul rest in peace.”
Green also gave an interview to Golf Channel, in which he talked about Murray’s selfless personality.
“Grayson is definitely the best,” Green said. “Not only was he an incredible, thoughtful and generous boss, but he was an even better friend. He would literally do anything for anyone.”

“He had the best family and my heart goes out to them. We will all miss him deeply.”
Swing coach Ted Kiegel, another member of Murray’s golf team, paid tribute to his student in the post.
“I am numb and devastated by the loss of Grayson, who was my family. He was more than family. We were kindred spirits – sharing so many triumphant ‘life moments,'” he wrote on He also went through downturns that challenged him.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan told reporters he spoke with Murray’s family on Saturday and suggested the Charles Schwab Challenge could be stopped so everyone could mourn Murray.
But Murray’s parents want the game to go ahead. They asked each player to wear a red and black ribbon on his hat as a nod to Murray’s Sunday apparel, which always features the colors of the Carolina Hurricanes – his hometown NHL team in Raleigh, North Carolina.
