Use what you have. One thing that makes the Green Goddess Salad so big is that it makes it easy to customize your preferences. Do you like kale instead of cabbage? no problem! Have a romaine on hand? Instead use it. The dressing can also be customized to the herbs you have at hand.

Ingredients for Green Goddess Salad
- cabbage – 1 fine head of Napa Cabbage (my preference) or green cabbage head. If so, feel free to use mandolin.
- onion – A large minority of about 6 green onions.
- cucumber – 1 large English cucumber or 2 medium cucumbers.
- Spicy green onions – I like to use them in salads and seasonings, but feel free to use in dressings if you want.
Ingredients in Green Goddess Dressing
- Regular Greek Yogurt – I prefer Greeks, but you can use any regular yogurt
- Herbs of choice – Coriander, basil, mint, parsley, dragon turtle, chives, green onions, dill, etc.
- garlic – Use fresh garlic! The taste is much better.
- Salt and black pepper
- Jalapeno – Optional, but I love the spicy kick!
My personal favorite combination is Coriander, basil and dill But honestly, any combination will do it. Use whatever you have on hand!
Make it vegan!
If you want a vegan green goddess recipe, feel free to replace Greek yogurt with 1 big avocado + 1/4 cup water.

Step 2: Discard the Salad
In a large bowl, throw away all the salad ingredients. Top with some seasoning (required amount) and stir to combine.


Add-ons + interchange
For protein boosts, plus some grilled chicken, crispy bacon or vegetarian options, these crispy chickpeas will be delicious!
Replace cabbage with other hearty greens. If you don’t have or don’t like cabbage, I recommend you shedding in another fuller green, such as thinly sliced kale, thin Brussels sprouts or chopped romaine lettuce.
Add fennel. I like to add a little less fennel. I sliced it thinly and threw it in. You may want to add some extra dressing.
Kick it. My Green Goddess Seasoning uses jalapeno in it, but you can adjust the spicy flavor by adding more or less seeds.

Any salad thrown into the Green Goddess dressing is considered a Green Goddess salad. My version has cabbage, onions, cucumbers and chives, but you can customize it to your liking.
