When asked by Peter Alexander if he would vote to certify the 2024 election results, Jeffries said, “Absolutely.
This has always been the case because the peaceful transfer of power is sacrosanct in the United States. That’s one of the reasons why many Americans, Democrats, independents, and traditional Republicans are troubled by electoral denialism, or the denial that we see coming from the other side of the party. I hope this will be a campaign focused on these issues and that Democrats will continue to articulate our vision for solving problems for hard-working American taxpayers and creating a bright future for everyone.
The entire exchange at Meet The Press lasted 47 seconds.
Jeffries revealed that for those who support democracy, the issue of certifying the election is not difficult.
When asked whether they would vote to certify the election, Republicans struggled to answer because they didn’t want to admit they didn’t support democracy. Whether members of Congress will vote to certify the presidential election should not be a question. The Founding Fathers never intended for democracy to be a controversial topic, but Republicans have chosen to debate whether the United States is still a democracy, which is why their refusal to answer the question of whether to vote to certify the election is an attack on democracy.
