House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said it is the responsibility of the American people and their representatives in Congress to pressure Alito and Thomas to recuse themselves.

Jeffries said on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House:
The American people and their representatives in both houses of Congress will have to pressure the Supreme Court to be more transparent as it relates to why Justices Thomas and Alito did not recuse themselves. Any matter related to transfer of authority efforts. This is a big lie and there are currently pending criminal cases against the former president. These are legitimate questions, and the American people deserve practical answers, but they are not being given them.
This is an extraordinary thing because the judiciary is a branch that truly requires legitimacy and credibility and the full trust and confidence of the American people. Because the decisions they make are essentially permanent and non-appealable. Therefore, in order for them to be welcomed in a manner consistent with our country as a country based on the rule of law, the lack of confidence must be faced. We will use every tool at our disposal, even though we are in the minority, to try to uncover the truth for the American people.

Jeffries is right. Without significant public pressure on the conservative Supreme Court majority, there is zero chance of action being taken. The good news is that we are seeing that most people are currently very sensitive to public pressure. They understand that their legitimacy depends on public acceptance of their rulings.
The Supreme Court must be reformed because the current situation poses a threat to democracy. The Supreme Court majority is corrupt and the American people must demand action.
