Texas authorities discovered drugs stuffed inside a stuffed toy of the Lone Star State’s beloved and iconic mascot during a routine traffic check.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office announced in a statement that shortly after 1 a.m. on July 31, a deputy discovered marijuana and ecstasy inside a Buc-ee’s Beaver stuffed animal while searching the vehicle.
The driver gave police permission to search the vehicle, officials said.
During the search, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found a Buc-ee’s stuffed toy in the back seat, officials said.

After inspecting the toy, the deputy discovered the package inside and discovered that the stuffed toy had been re-stitched. Officials said the stuffed beavers contained marijuana and ecstasy.
Authorities said the marijuana weighed more than two pounds.

After the drugs were discovered, 47-year-old San Antonio driver Lugene Davis Jr. claimed he felt chest pains.

Emergency medical services were dispatched to the location and Davis was transported to a local hospital for treatment, officials said.
Marijuana and ecstasy were confiscated and a warrant was issued for Davis’ arrest.
