Trump now claims he doesn’t need to debate Vice President Kamala Harris because everyone already knows him. Harris campaign tells Trump to be brave.
Trump has a new excuse not to debate Harris
Trump said: “Oh, they said Trump didn’t participate in the debate. They will say the same thing now. Now I say why should I debate? I’m leading in the polls, everyone knows her. Everyone knows me.

Harris campaign responds to Trump’s refusal to debate
Harris Presidential Co-Chair Cedric Richmond responded, “Donald Trump needs to show his manliness.” He has no problem spreading lies and hateful garbage at rallies or in interviews with right-wing commentators. But he was apparently too scared to do so from across the stage from the Vice President of the United States. Since he means what he says, he should mean what he says — as Vice President Harris said earlier this week — and say it to her face on September 10th. See if he will show it.
Donald Trump is afraid to debate Kamala Harris
If Trump’s interviews with three black female reporters are any indication of his debate performance, Donald Trump should be afraid of debating the vice president.
Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump has shown a fear of debating those younger than him. The former president likely knew his weaknesses and limitations would be exposed in debates with his younger opponents.
If Trump stood side by side with Kamala Harris, he would look older, and the contrast between the campaigns would be clear to voters.
The Harris campaign has done a good job of framing the election as a choice between the past and the future, and if Trump showed up with Harris, it could end any hope he had of winning.
