Greene announced that she was initiating a motion to declare the speaker’s seat vacant, and boos erupted from the House speaker’s bench.
Rep. Green solemnly listed one of the reasons Johnson was fired for allowing a vote to expel Jorge Santos:

Republicans such as Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL) Already speaking out against the withdrawal motion, “The withdrawal motion in the autumn was a bad idea and it’s an even worse idea now when we should be winning a Conservative victory. Waste our time with this distraction on Our country and institutions are harmful and I will continue to support @SpeakerJohnson.”
Green’s motion to resign is already embarrassing and won’t happen anytime soon. Democrats won’t support it. Republicans won’t support it. Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries has said there are enough Democratic votes to table a motion to withdraw.
Democrats will not allow Greene to plunge the House into chaos.
The reign of empowered Marjorie Taylor Greene is over, and if the boos are any indication, the withdrawal motion will soon be defeated, the chaos will end, and if the Democrats win the majority, they can turn the House back into A functioning Legislature in November.
