Some motherboard manufacturers have released BIOS profiles labeled “Intel Baseline Profile”. However, these BIOS profiles are not identical to the Intel Default recommendations that Intel recently shared with partners regarding instability issues reported on 13th and 14th Generation K SKU processors.
These “Intel Baseline Profile” BIOS settings appear to be based on power delivery guidance previously provided by Intel to manufacturers, which described various power delivery options for 13th and 14th Generation K SKU processors based on motherboard capabilities.
Intel does not recommend that motherboard manufacturers use the “baseline” power setting on motherboards with higher values.
Intel’s recommended “Intel Defaults” are a combination of thermal and power delivery capabilities and a range of options possible Power profile based on motherboard capabilities.
Intel recommends that customers implement the highest power supply configuration compatible with each motherboard design, as shown in the following table:
