There are still nineteen cases pending before the Supreme Court. The majority opinion may be reduced because runner light/ruthless and Network selection Cases may be consolidated. To facilitate calculation, seventeen actual opinions may have been conveyed.
The court has scheduled an opinion day for tomorrow, Friday, June 21. One issue is that there will be a presidential debate on Thursday night, June 27th.
The last time the Supreme Court intersected with a presidential debate was on February 13, 2016. Judge Cox fills the seat. (For those paying attention at home, neither justice was appointed to the Supreme Court.)
Does the court really want this debate to turn into a free-for-all over presidential immunity? I think not. In the past, I have speculated that the Court (and indeed the Chief Justice) has attempted to stagger opinions to minimize media scrutiny — combining some conservative and some liberal opinions on a given day. If so, then maximum All cases are likely to be concluded after arguments conclude on Friday, June 28. And, if my math is correct, Chief Justice Roberts probably wrote every Laxmi, Loper-Bright/ruthlessand trump card. They will be announced continuously. I think it is unlikely that Roberts will allow these cases to derail the debate.
