Keller Williams on Thursday hosted the 16th annual Red Day, a global philanthropic event that encourages the Texas-based franchisee’s 176,000 agents to give back to their communities through projects and donations.
Keller Williams Market Center leadership is responsible for planning and coordinating local Red Day programs; however, some market centers prohibit joint regional donation drives. The exact number of red days planned for this year has not been announced, but a company spokesperson said there are “thousands.”
“Red Day exemplifies our commitment to giving back and making a tangible impact in the communities we serve every day,” Keller Williams President and CEO Mark Willis said in a written statement. “As a driver of positive change, Our agents are making a difference in real estate around the world today Red Day is truly our culture in action.
Keller Williams highlighted several Red Day projects, including repainting nonprofit buildings, organizing donations at food banks and shelters, renovating children’s summer camps, providing baked goods to first responders and assisting with landscaping.
“I absolutely love Keller Williams, but Red Day is one of my favorites when we come together to help organizations in our community,” said Austin-based agent Barbara Shalu. “This year, the Northwest Austin Market Center is helping host a veterans event hosted by Dress for Success, where each veteran will receive career assistance as well as clothing, hairstyling, makeup touch-ups and professional headshots.”
