Two men were shot to death in a car in a residential neighborhood in Fair Park on Saturday afternoon, and the shooter is at large, Los Angeles police said.
The victim was sitting in a sedan in the 1100 block of Browning Avenue around 2 p.m. when a gunman approached the car and opened fire, Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Michael Lorenz said.
Lorenz said one of the shooting victims died at the scene and the other died at a hospital. The gunman fled in a car.
“Homicide detectives are at the scene looking for physical evidence,” Lorenz said. “We have a lot of CCTV footage to look at.”
The Los Angeles Police Chief said, “There is currently no evidence that this shooting is gang-related.”
“This may be an isolated incident,” Lorenz said. “The suspect actually engaged in conversation with the victim before approaching the vehicle and firing his weapon.”
