Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider The series is taking two interesting paths as it develops an entirely new game. On the one hand, the recent live-action series presented by Phoebe Waller-Bridge Move forward on Prime Video. On the other hand, a more direct result is that Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Scheduled for release in October, it looks like a bit of a blast from the past.
New show by Castlevania Studio Powerhouse Animation and Stars Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Hayley Atwell plays Lara Croft. In this story set against the events of the 2010s reboot trilogy, Lara Croft abandons her friends to venture out on her own. While taking on increasingly difficult jobs, she finds herself on a new hunt after a thief breaks into Croft Manor and steals an ancient Chinese artifact. Not only is this artifact ancient, but it’s also dangerous, so it’s her duty to do what she does best and save the world from danger.
legend It may be in the same continuity as those games, but it looks more like a world-traveling, action-packed event. In fact, this Lara Croft seems to be becoming more like her original incarnation, rather than being beaten by gravity and nature every other step. While some aspects of the reboot have been retained, such as her pickaxe, bow and arrows, and her trusty friend Jonah (Count Beren), there’s definitely a change in the air. Here she rides a motorcycle, skydives, and shoots a shotgun in mid-air, just like the superhero fans originally loved.
Netflix will premiere Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft October 10th.
