The FBI will interview former President Donald Trump as part of its investigation into an assassination attempt against him. The bureau said it wanted to understand Trump’s perspective and learn about his observations that day. So far, the FBI has interviewed more than 450 people, including people who knew gunman Thomas Crooks.

Crooks is believed to have carefully planned before the rally and tried to hide his activities. One officer was lifted to the roof, but was thrown back to the ground after Crooks pointed his gun at him. Just 25 to 30 seconds later, Crooks fired eight shots and was killed by the Secret Service.

President Biden yesterday called for term limits and enforceable ethics rules for Supreme Court justices. The White House said the proposal would appoint a judge every two years to serve on the Supreme Court for 18 years. He also called on Congress to pass binding, enforceable conduct and ethics rules that would require Superior Court judges to disclose gifts, avoid public political activity and withdraw from cases when they or their spouses have financial or other conflicts of interest. The president has also called for a constitutional amendment that would limit the broad immunity the president currently enjoys due to a recent Supreme Court ruling.
