What’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned in real estate?
A profound lesson I’ve learned in my real estate journey, and indeed in life, is that life is like a wheel: one day you are at the top, and another day you may find yourself at the bottom.
This cycle taught me that the true measure of success is not sales, profits, or the number of properties I work on. Rather, it exists in the lives I touch—whether as clients, friends, colleagues, superiors, or assistants—and in the sincerity and kindness I bring to every interaction.
This realization comes not only from my highs but more importantly from my lows, especially my personal experience from prosperity to hardship after divorce, which vividly illustrates how people’s treatment can change according to one’s destiny.
This experience gave me a deep appreciation and true understanding of the importance of treating everyone with respect and kindness, no matter where we are currently on the wheel of life. When you are in the good times, it is crucial to remember to be kind to others because the wheels will turn and one day, you may find yourself in the low points.
The way people treated me during my highs and lows not only gave me a greater appreciation for some relationships, but also gave me a deep understanding of human behavior and empathy.
In real estate, as in life, there are good years, bad years, and everything in between. Amid these fluctuations, however, what remains constant and most impactful is the authenticity of your character and your willingness to help others.
Being genuine, showing empathy, reaching out without expecting anything in return—these are the pillars of not only building a good career, but also building meaningful relationships.
This class reshaped my approach to real estate and taught me that our professional legacy is not defined by the deals we close, but by the difference we make in people’s lives. After realizing this, I learned that being my authentic, helpful self is the most valuable contribution I can offer, no matter how the market ebbs and flows.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up, my dream job was always rooted in a passion for helping others. I have always cherished making deep connections with people and nurturing connections between them. My unique ability to connect with and bring people from diverse backgrounds together has been a source of joy and satisfaction for me.
I’m fascinated by the complexity of human behavior – what motivates us, what brings us joy, and what challenges we face. I envisioned my career making a real difference in people’s lives, helping them become healthier, both emotionally and physically.
This dream was more than just a job; it was a career. This is about creating a space where I can help people overcome their weaknesses and provide guidance and expertise. At one point, I also considered teaching, attracted by the opportunity to inspire and inspire.
In many ways, my current role allows me to fulfill this dream of supporting and guiding others through important moments in their lives, embodying the essence of what I have always wanted to do.
Which book inspired you the most?
This book Discipline is destiny Written by Ryan Holiday This was a thoughtful gift given to me by a colleague that has had a huge impact on my perspective and actions. Holiday’s exploration of the role of discipline in personal and professional success taught me a valuable lesson: Our character determines our destiny more than anything else.
Through a variety of historical and contemporary examples, Holiday illustrates how discipline of thought, action, and habit is more than self-control or denial, but the foundation of true freedom and achievement.
From this book, I learned that discipline is the cornerstone of excellence. It’s not just about rigid routines or rigid schedules, it’s about consistently making the right choices to shape our future. Holiday’s insights encouraged me to embrace discipline and see it not as a limitation, but as a way to reach my potential and achieve my goals.
It profoundly changed the way I approach challenges and made me realize that through self-discipline we gain the power to face life’s obstacles and turn our desires into reality. This gift from a colleague has not only enriched my understanding but also highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and inspiration with others, for which I am deeply grateful.
What is the one thing everyone should do to make their life/career better?
Everyone should start their day early with a balanced daily routine that includes prayer or meditation, reading for personal growth, and some form of exercise. It is also important to maintain strong connections with loved ones, such as calling children and parents, and arriving at the office by 8 a.m. ready to tackle the day.
Additionally, constantly seeking knowledge from books, not taking things personally, and adhering to a well-structured system for your work and personal life can significantly improve your personal satisfaction and business success.
If you could do anything else besides real estate, what would you do?
If I weren’t a real estate agent, I think I’d be a coach or teacher. My passion truly lies in the coaching role that I naturally play, especially when working with first time home buyers, internationals, and even those who have bought and sold before.
I enjoy teaching and always take the time to explain new developments, driven by changing legal and market conditions. This inclination toward education, combined with a desire to make a practical difference in people’s lives, underlined my belief that empowering others through knowledge and guidance would be my calling in another life.
