Anne Rice stands up, hands up! Rock icon (and vampire) Lestat de Lioncourt takes center stage in AMC’s trailer Visit the Vampire Season 3, adapted from Rice’s sequel novel vampire lester.
In the clip, first in TVB During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Lester (Sam Reid) was interviewed on camera by off-screen Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) – a reporter Lester’s former (?) lover Louis de Pointe Dulac (Jacob Anderson) was interviewed in seasons one and two. Lester continues to be the diva we all know and love: refusing hair and makeup; asking them to take a glass of blood; commenting on the sound guy’s dehydration, and overall exuding rudeness and arrogance.
The all-too-short trailer ends with a montage of Lester at various points in the interview – laughing, crying, and acting generally menacing towards the camera. It’s the soundtrack to Lester’s own song “Why the Long Face?” Maybe AMC is asking us that question, since season three doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
However, according to TV Insider, executive producer Rolin Jones listed numerous sources of inspiration for Lester’s music during the panel, including Chappell Roan. While we wait for more information, we’re waiting for Chappelle to make a cameo TVB Season 3.
