Janet Jackson was born on May 16, 1966 in Gary, Indiana to a talented family.
Jackson is the youngest of ten children. Brandon was the twin of her brother Marlon, who died shortly after her birth.
The Jackson Five were already a hit when Jackson was born. The band originally consisted of her five brothers – Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and the late Michael Jackson. The band is managed by their father. The band’s hits include “ABC” and “I Want You Back.”
Jackson began his career in the entertainment industry at a young age. After starring in the television series “The Jacksons” with her siblings in 1976 and 1977, she landed a role on the show “Good Times.” She also appeared in the TV series “Fame”.

After releasing her self-titled debut album in 1982 and the follow-up album “Dream Street” two years later, she achieved her breakthrough with her third album “Control”. She has since released further albums including Rhythm Nation 1814, All For You, Damita Jo, 20 YO, Discipline and Unbreakable.
Jackson is a 26-time Grammy-nominated artist and has won five times.
Jackson has also appeared in various film roles. Her first film was the 1993 film Poetic Justice, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
Jackson’s other film credits include “The Nutty Professor II: Krups” and “Why Did I Get Married?” and “Colored Girls.”
She was previously married to businessman Wissam Al Mana in 2012, but they split shortly after the birth of their son Eissa in 2017.

Prior to joining Al Mana, Jackson was married to James DeBarge from 1984 to 1985 and to René Elizondo Jr. from 1991 to 2000.
