Luke Combs It quickly became clear that success came with sacrifice.
During an appearance on “The Zane Lowe Show,” the country music singer explained how he missed the birth of his son and detailed why it was “one of the worst days” of his life.
“I’ll never forget the craziest day of my life… coming up,” the “Express” singer said. “The funny thing is, it’s one of the best days of my life and one of the worst days, but it’s hard to wrap my head around it.”

In August 2023, Combs, who was on tour in Australia, woke up to a text message from his wife, Nicole, which read: “‘I’m so sorry, I’ve been working so hard while you’re gone. Don’t want to have children.
“Oh my gosh, man, this is terrible,” he said.
Combs said he was able to watch the birth of his second son, Beau Lee, virtually, even though he wasn’t physically present.
“I saw him born and it was amazing. He wasn’t born yet but my wife went and she texted me on the way to the hospital and he was two and a half weeks early and I was supposed to be born. “I was at home , but I wasn’t home,” Combs said, visibly emotional.

“It’s been really hard to do and I haven’t really told anyone,” added Combs, who is currently promoting his new album Fathers & Sons. “But I didn’t touch on that too much on this album because it was really hard for me to deal with.”
Despite the difficulty of being so far apart, Combs said he and his wife are surrounded by close friends and family and that he is “blessed.”
“Oh my gosh, it’s been a tough day, but I’m lucky that a lot of my closest friends work for me now. So I have a really good support system,” he said.

“Luckily, my mother-in-law came over while I was away because, obviously, we have a one-year-old and my wife was basically nine months pregnant at the time, so thank God she was there,” he said. “My sister-in-law lives in Nashville, too. So my wife has a really good support system through this experience, and I’m very grateful for that. It makes it a lot easier. I have someone there.” With me, everything is around me.
Combs and Nicole also have a two-year-old son, Tex.
