Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio refuses to commit to accepting 2024 election results, then breaks down as NBC’s Kristen Welker exposes his election lies .

Welker asked Rubio if he would accept the election results no matter what.
“No matter what happens,” Rubio said. “No, if this is an unfair election, I think it will
challenged by one party or the other. No matter who wins.
Senator Rubio then said, “I think you’re asking the wrong person. Democrats have opposed every Republican victory since 2000. The one who refused to concede was Hillary Clinton.”
Welker corrected: “Hillary Clinton admitted. Senator, are you willing to accept the election?
Rubio then told a bunch of lies, “Hillary Clinton said the election was stolen from her and Trump was illegitimate. Kamala Harris agreed when she was a Democratic senator.”
Welker’s facts reaffirm his point: “She conceded the election. She said, she said, no, she said Trump was illegitimate. She said the election was stolen. Kamala Harris agreed by the way. Democrats serving in Congress today voted not to certify Ohio electors in 2004 because they said the machines had been tampered with, and now Democrats say they want to certify them in 2024 because Trump is an insurgent and unqualified to hold office . So you need to ask them. I assume you’ve ever asked that question on the show? I bet you’ve never asked the Democrats that question.
“Senator, you voted for the 2020 election,” Welker said.
Kristen Welker then played Rubio’s speech on democracy as the Senate voted to certify the 2020 election results. Rubio claimed NBC News was censoring and Hillary Clinton never admitted it. Hillary Clinton acknowledged that Welker ended her question by telling Rubio that he voted for the 2020 election and that there was no censorship.

One nice thing Kristen Welker did during her Meet the Press was ask her guests if they accepted the results of the 2924 election. She did this not to ask a trap question, but to educate the American people about where candidates and elected officials stand on democracy.
Republicans seem unable to handle questions about their anti-democratic stance. Rubio tried to attack Welker with lies, but she repeated the basic truth over and over again. Repeating facts is one of the best ways to eliminate lies.
Kristen Welker gets a lot of criticism as the host of Meet the Press, but one thing she does well is always include questions about democracy as part of the questions she poses to her guests.
