Microsoft officially launched the white version of Xbox Series X today. The new console options will not include a disc drive and will be entirely digital. It has the same internals as the Xbox Series X and delivers the same performance as existing Xbox games. The new white model will launch later this year with 1TB of storage and will cost $449.99.

The unreleased Xbox Series X update, codenamed Brooklin, uses a more cylindrical design than existing consoles and does not have a disc drive. Microsoft describes the console as “lovely all-digital” in internal documents, and it should come with new controllers and Xbox Wireless 2 connectivity. Microsoft tentatively plans to release the Brooklin game console in November, priced at $499.
Xbox CEO Phil Spencer addressed leaks about the updated Xbox Series X design last September, suggesting plans for the Xbox hardware may have changed. “It’s hard to see our team’s work shared in this way because so much has changed and there’s so much to be excited about now and in the future,” Spencer said in a September X post. “We will share our real plans when we are ready.”
