Post-spring ranking updates are coming soon. A wealth of new information emerged during spring camp, and the rankings will be updated soon to reflect the latest projections from the national analytics team for the 2025 and 2026 classes.
This week, the national analytics team is looking at the biggest questions for the upcoming rankings conference. Next up is the Midwest.

Will Tavion St. Clair be promoted to five-star?
This may be the biggest question in our next ranking meeting. Tavion St. Clair has everything a quarterback needs, which is why Ohio State pushed for his commitment early. He has the size, arm strength, accuracy and athleticism to throw on the run.
I saw him up close at the Elite 11 regional training camp in Ohio. He had a great day and the ball just jumped out of his hands. St. Clair earned a ticket to the Elite 11 finals that day. He has steadily improved throughout his high school career but has yet to reach the ceiling of his potential.
Discussions of elevating him to a five-star will definitely happen. St. Clair has had a great offseason so far, but will it be enough?

The biggest Midwestern riser we’ve seen in person?
This update will take place in Rival Training Camp Series Regional activities. We will see many potential customers from coast to coast at these sites. There are also many other training camps and 7-on-7 events to get fresh evaluations of the players.
Ohio State outside linebacker Justin Hill is a fearsome player who will be viewed as a breakout prospect. Wisconsin defensive back Jamell Scott’s performance was one of the best I’ve seen from a defensive back this offseason. Ohio State linebacker Eli Lee will also be considered for a significant upgrade.
On offense, Illinois tight end Logan Ferrell is one to watch. He excels in 7-on-7 situations, but also has explosive throwing numbers on the track. West Virginia quarterback commit Scotty Fox is also a dual-threat quarterback to watch.

Who is the best running back in the Midwest in 2025?
When the latest rankings update took place at Ohio State, four-star running back Bo Jackson emerged as the top running back in the area. But it remains an ongoing discussion and battle. Belleville (Ill.) Althoff running back Dierre Hill was right next to Jackson. The Oregon State commit is an impressive run between the tackles. Kentucky’s Marquis Davis has impressed in training camp and improved his route running to refine his game.
That will be an interesting question for a region that continues to produce prolific college running backs.

Will there be new five-star hotels in the Midwest in 2026?
The most obvious choice here is offensive tackle Maxwell Riley, and since he’s on the cusp of five-star status, it’s not out of the question.
However, there are still some potential risers worth keeping an eye on.
Corey Sadler is an elite two-way athlete from Michigan State. It will be interesting to watch as we learn more about his game and his best position. Ohio State defensive back Elbert Hill is a smooth corner who can run and cover. There’s a lot to like about his game.
Defensive end Titan Davis from St. Louis has been a sight to behold all offseason. His offer list has exploded, with USC, LSU, Auburn and many others pursuing him.
