Police are searching for a 15-year-old Monterey Park girl who disappeared after leaving her home on her bicycle Tuesday.
According to the Monterey Park Police Department, Alison Jillian Chao left her residence in the 200 block of North Ines Avenue in Monterey Park on Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. and headed to nearby San Gabriel to a relative’s home in the city but never arrived. The search began within hours, police said.
Signs posted on streetlights and utility poles in her neighborhood and in nearby Alhambra show Allison wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts and carrying a black backpack as she rode off on a blue mountain bike. The poster showed a photo of Alison leaving home with her hair tied in a ponytail to sell.
Police described the teen as Asian with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 96 pounds.
The last confirmed sighting of Allison was on the streets of Alhambra shortly after she left her home on Tuesday, according to a website dedicated to her search.
“The longer it goes, the scarier it gets,” the teen’s mother, Annie Chao, told KTLA on Friday. “I haven’t slept in days and it’s every parent’s worst nightmare.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Monterey Park Police Department at 626-573-1311.
