MSNBC is at the Republican National Convention this week and Joy Reid is allowed to speak for some reason.
Last week she compared Trump to Hitler, and tonight she claimed that Trump is the biggest promoter of political violence. The man had been shot days earlier, but she accused him of political violence. She also took the opportunity to absolve MSNBC of all responsibility for its lack of confidence in the media.
How does this woman still have a job talking about politics on TV?
Transcript from Real Clear Politics:
I will say that the general reaction that I get, both from civilians and from professionals, is really one of deep concern and a lack of confidence, not in those of us here or in us at MSNBC, but in us as a media outlet Promote. People are worried that what’s going to happen now is that the Republicans are going to do what they did.
They are running a campaign. You know, the convention starts today. The media will acquiesce in trying to convince people that what they have experienced in the past five or six years did not happen.
The biggest purveyor and promoter of political violence has really been, you know, since anybody can remember, since George Wallace, and I think, you know, we just haven’t experienced that kind of public, you know, Thoughts that incite violence or are somewhat obsessed with violence. This is no longer something we are used to in American politics. Then we have to get used to it.
People worry and worry that we won’t be the keepers of memory. We will allow Donald Trump, as he does, to bask in the glory and greatness of his party, recasting himself as both hero and victim. These are the people who are most susceptible not only to what he does, but also to what he promises to do.
