Megyn Kelly’s days of feuding with Donald Trump are well and truly over.
In a trial widely condemned as a show, Trump was found guilty Wednesday night of falsifying all of his business records related to hush-money payments to adult porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election. 34 charges.
Kelly launched into her eponymous talk show an epic rant about the verdict and warned Republicans must target Democrats like Joe Biden, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton if they seek revenge.
The following is a transcript of her remarks:
For America, this is a before-and-after moment. What just happened today is a line we cannot cross. These Democrats will regret the day they decide to use the law to block a presidential candidate. I don’t mean violence. I’m talking tit for tat.
Just wait, it won’t be Hunter Biden next time. This will be Joe Biden. Probably still Barack Obama. It could still be Hillary Clinton. We’ll have to see what the statute of limitations is for the various crimes they did commit.
We are going to have to look at laws to reinstate those crimes, felonies or misdemeanors, that have died so that those cases can be heard in a timely manner. This may be in the interest of justice. Just like they did for E. Jean Carroll, New York State passed a law so that she could sue him.
This is what happened. John Yoo, a great lawyer who worked in the Bush administration’s Department of Justice, published a great article today about how this is the only way they can learn. The only way to save the Republic now is to let them reap the consequences.
