Even though I’m a very active person, I also really enjoy lounge life. When the weather gets colder and the light dims faster, I’m ready to kick off hibernation mode. Now, I wouldn’t necessarily identify myself as an activewear girl. Call me a snob, but there’s a certain connotation to activewear, but I don’t really feel like they’re inconsistent with the look I’m going for in life. In fact, the last time I wore tracksuits was in the late 80s, when neon shell suits were all the rage, so I honestly don’t have much basis for my opinion! However, my perspective changed when I attended an event as an adidas blogger and was asked to look at some adidas women’s sportswear.
Before I choose which one to pick, I thought I’d get my teenage daughter in on the fun, too. Now, if I think I’m good at hanging out, she’s like next level. We’re talking elite-level recliners. There’s nothing a girl loves more than a good old-fashioned lounge. I mean, all teenagers love it, right! So when I mentioned to her that I had a gift card to spend on the Adidas website and she was willing to help me buy loungewear, I’d never seen her jump out of bed so quickly. She likes to hang out but also likes to shop even More!
If you’re a lazy person too, then read on to see which women’s adidas tracksuits my daughter and I chose for our lazy day of hanging out and gaming:
Laziday sportswear
The first set of tracksuits I chose was called the Laziday tracksuit, which was fitting. I didn’t even discover the name when I decided I liked it, in fact it was only when I sat down to write this that I jotted it down. But does it live up to its name?
Well, I think so. It’s super soft and very comfortable. I ordered a medium, usually a size 10/12 on the top half and a 12 on the bottom half, they fit perfectly. Slouchy and comfortable, but not so baggy that it looks sloppy. I chose Gray Heather which is a lovely soft light grey, but it’s also available in black and tent green/chalk white.
This is a great place to relax. Officially a sportswear convert. I wear it for hanging out on Sundays. Hang out and watch a movie on Friday night. I walk my dog in it. I’m in there cleaning. I wore it after running an ultramarathon the other weekend – changing into something warm and comfortable is the best feeling when your body is feeling completely exhausted. When paired with the top and bottom, it’s a totally casual look that, to be honest, I’d probably only wear around the house. However, when the crew neck top is paired with jeans or leggings, it elevates the look a bit and I’d happily wear it to lunch, or to a cafe, etc.
Laziday tracksuits are made from cotton-blend terry, so they feel so cute and soft. Plus, about 70% is a mix of recycled and renewable materials, which is in line with the ethos of Adidas and something I particularly like about the brand. The pants have pockets, which is always a plus for me, and they have drawstring elastic at the waist so you can pull them in for a snug fit when you’re done with a big Sunday dinner , loosen it a little more. Gotta love the stretchy waist!
active sportswear
In stark contrast to the Laziday tracksuit, this tracksuit is called the Energize tracksuit. But listen, this is all about us enjoying hanging out, so yes, you can do something energetic in this tracksuit if you want, but we’re going to keep it nice and chill for now.
My daughter and I both love this so we both match well. She chose the Sandy Pink option and I chose black (you can also go for flax green). She’s 14, which means the days of being “allowed” to wear the same clothes as her are almost non-existent. But this tracksuit is something she can handle wearing as her mom…as long as I don’t order the Sandy Pink option too!
Energize activewear is made from a fleece-blend fabric that’s cute, comfortable, warm, and stretchy enough to allow you to move freely. The rest, therefore, is designed to be more subtle than other adidas women’s sportswear.
The sweatpants are high-waisted, which is always a huge plus point for me, and are loose-fitting with an elastic band and drawstring at the waist. The full-zip top also features an adjustable drawstring hood. My daughter is already wearing her pink tracksuit. Pale pink is one of her favorite colors and as soon as she saw it she thought, yes, that’s mommy’s color. Since I chose the black option, they actually look quite different, which is probably why she didn’t mind me buying the same thing!
Essentials relaxed fit three-stripe full-zip hoodie
As much as I love lounging around the house in my activewear on the weekends, I’m a hoodie girl at heart, so you’re more likely to see me wearing an Adidas hoodie than a full hoodie outfit. This is what influenced my final choice of order. I wanted something classic, and the Essentials Loose Fit Three Stripes Full Zip Hoodie is as classic as you can find. I like it paired with everything. Wear it after a run, layer it over your pajamas, pair it with jeans, or wear it in place of a jacket when the weather is relatively mild, this hoodie is the epitome of versatility.
The design is inspired by classic sportswear tops, which can be seen in the slightly retro design. This hoodie is black with classic white adidas three stripes and features a full zip and adjustable drawstring hood. The fit is loose with slightly fitted sleeves and cinched at the waist, creating a very flattering silhouette.
As I’m sure I’ve already mentioned, I love pockets, I mean let’s face it, what woman doesn’t love pockets? This hoodie doesn’t just have pockets, it also has a kangaroo pocket, which in case you didn’t know (don’t worry, I totally had to Google it, although it’s kind of self-explanatory) is a large pocket that, like a kangaroo pocket, you can Place your hands in and across the front of the garment. Comfortable, functional, and stylish, this hoodie feels like an old favorite from the moment you first put it on. Because everyone has a favorite hoodie, right? The one you always grab, the one that feels right, the one that’s versatile, the one that’s reliable. This is that hoodie.
Who would have thought I’d be so obsessed with adidas women’s activewear, but I’ve been converted, they’re incredible. I like to think of them as socially acceptable pajamas. For example, they feel as comfortable as pajamas, but it’s socially acceptable to wear them outside. Plus, if I wear workout clothes at home on the weekend, I don’t feel as sloppy as if I were in pajamas, which is wrong. But this way I can live a casual life without looking like I just woke up.
Of all the adidas women’s activewear I’ve ordered, the Laziday is my favorite. I’ve spent almost a weekend in it since it arrived and it has become my favorite casual comfy outfit. Mind you, once you put them on and see for yourself how comfortable they are… there’s no going back!
