The days are getting brighter, but with the current heat wave plaguing much of the United States, how many of us can actually get out and enjoy it? Fortunately, Nanoleaf’s Skylight Smart Kit On sale for the first time, it gives the rest of us a way to add some light into our lives without melting. Normally priced at $249.99, you can now pick up a three-piece kit for $229.99 on Amazon, Best Buy, and directly from Nanoleaf.
Designed to mimic a skylight, Nanoleaf’s full-color LED ceiling lights bring a little sunshine into the comfort of your air-conditioned home. They feature exceptionally bright, adjustable lights with a combined brightness of up to 4,200 lumens, while their modular design means you can build different patterns or add more panels later for added flexibility. These lighting panels (only one of which requires wiring) are also compatible with a number of platforms, including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and Nanoleaf promises support for Matter soon.
What’s even cooler is that the lights offer hundreds of dynamic color effects and light scenes, so when summer makes you crave relief, you can change Weather to Light Rain. The dynamic effects generated by Nanoleaf’s artificial intelligence are also impressive. For example, if you type something like “tropical paradise,” the Magic Scene Creator will produce effects designed to mimic the sea. As an added bonus, the lights can be synced to ambient music and sounds, perfect for setting the mood, especially at parties.
If you’re looking to beef up your home security before your summer travels, one of our favorite outdoor floodlight cameras is now down to one of its best prices yet. Normally $89.99, you can currently purchase Blink wired floodlight camera Amazon and Home Depot for $59.99 ($30 off). This is the second-highest price for the camera to date, and is just $10 less than the all-time low we saw in January.
For the price, Blink’s entry-level security camera has a lot going for it, including 1080p resolution and an impressive 2,600-lumen light that’s easy to adjust. Unlike typical outdoor security cameras, it also features a loud 105dB siren designed to scare away any potential intruders, giving you extra peace of mind. You can also control it via Amazon Alexa and install it horizontally or vertically according to your needs.
Of course, there are trade-offs. For one, the audio isn’t great, there’s no adjustable lighting, and motion detection is limited to 20 feet. Additionally, you’ll have to pay $3 per month to take advantage of features like person detection and cloud recording (or buy the $49.99 Blink Sync Module 2 for local storage). Still, if you just need a simple way to add some extra security to your home, the Blink wired floodlight camera is a good investment at its current price.
