The Navy confirmed that a sailor made multiple attempts to obtain President Biden’s medical records.
CBS News reports:
The U.S. Navy confirmed to CBS News that a junior sailor tried unsuccessfully three times in February to access President Joe Biden’s medical records from a military medical database.
The sailor, whom the Navy would not name, was placed on administrative action after an investigation into the breach concluded in late April. The person responsible for the leak is a junior sailor serving in the Naval Hospital Corps, stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, a major medical center, according to a U.S. official familiar with the situation.
The U.S. official said that on February 23, the sailor visited Genesis Healthcare System (the military medical system’s database) three times, but “he did not find the correct Joe Biden.”
Previous incidents of this type often resulted in people compromising systems to leak sensitive information. In this case, the sailor is lucky that they failed, as discipline for unsuccessful attempts may not be as strict as for successful attempts.
Biden’s medical records are no big secret. Medical summaries about the president have been published for decades. The government still maintains records from Trump’s presidency, and they should remain confidential.
The incident reported by CBS occurred months before the current frenzy over Biden’s medical records.
