The Lahaina fire in Maui, Hawaii, occurred almost a year ago, but residents of the community are still working to rebuild.
While Biden and Congress regularly rush to pass more spending on Ukraine, American citizens in Hawaii are still dealing with this issue. When was the last time you heard a government official talk about Lahaina?

“To get a building permit, you have to go to the county. They have a review board now. You have to fill out this paperwork. It’s endless and it takes forever. It’s a review board for the building permit process. Just everything is put out Slow and procrastinate and you wonder why.
And, um, the army of engineers said they cleared 1,200 residential areas of debris, ash and toxic materials.
I don’t know what I don’t know yet. I’m not an expert. What’s poisonous?
They are now slowly developing it commercially. For example, 40 commercial plots have been cleared. They said they cleared 2,000 burned vehicles. I think things are moving slowly, but, you know, people say, well, we’re on an island. But, anyway, you have to wonder why…
crazy. These were little container homes built in Kahului for fire victims, but, you know, a lot of people have left the island. They have given up. This is sad.

Have these people been forgotten and abandoned? Why aren’t they getting more attention and help from our leaders in Washington?
