Netflix has a new game show called million dollar secret. Netflix says the eight-episode series will see 11 contestants search for the 12th winner of the $1 million prize in an effort to be the last person standing (and win the prize).
The show seems to be targeting the same audience that produced similar dystopian tones Squid Game: Challenge The 15th most-watched TV show on Netflix in the second half of 2023, with over 33 million views (enough to slightly surpass Coco Melon S1, Suit S1, and crown S6 but still a lot worse Coco Melon S8).
Netflix writes that once the winner of the $1 million prize is discovered and eliminated by another contestant, the prize money will go to them. But there’s some strategy involved: Players who spot the prize early will become a target for others, but if they wait, their chances of finding the person with the cash diminish. Netflix apparently calls it “a game of strategy and alliances.”
British actor Peter Serafinowicz will host million dollar secret. If you don’t know Serafinowicz’s name, you probably recognize his face. He played the grumpy, responsible roommate (and later shower zombie) on “Shaun” shaun of the dead, For example, Amazon’s titular blue hero was canceled too soon Ticks. Netflix has yet to reveal when the show will premiere.
