Netlist (OTCQB:NLST) was awarded $445 million by a jury in its ongoing patent dispute with Micron (NASDAQ:MU).
A jury in the Eastern District of Texas returned a $445 million verdict Thursday, according to a court filing. The judgment involves Patent No. 912.
Samsung ( OTCPK:SSNLF ) and Netlist ( OTCQB:NLST ) have been fighting over memory module technology patents since a joint development and licensing agreement ran into some problems about three years ago in 2015. Netlist officially terminated the licensing agreement in mid-2020. 0. Netlist has also filed patent lawsuits with Micron Technology (MU) and Google (GOOG) over patent issues.
According to Reuters, Netlist attorney Jason Sheasby said in a statement: “We are grateful to the jury for their service and their recognition of the importance of Netlist’s innovation.”
Micron did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha’s email request for comment outside normal business hours.

Last month, following an administrative court ruling, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled that claim 16 of the ‘912 patent was not patentable. The patent infringement claim involves printed circuit boards, memory modules and double date (DDR) memory.
