Reports say seniors worried about Biden’s debate think “Biden performed poorly”
Multiple seniors and residents at an assisted living facility in Chevy Chase, Maryland, told POLITICO they were upset by President Joe Biden’s debate with former President Trump on Thursday night.
In a rambling statement about the U.S. health care system, Biden declared at the debate: “We finally defeated Medicare.”
Politico reported that 81-year-old Barbara Goldberg “put her head in her hands” after making the statement and repeated Biden’s words as she watched events unfold.
“Have we finally defeated Medicare?” she said.
“I don’t like to see [Biden’s] It’s a gaffe, but I also don’t like seeing Trump lose control and talk nonsense,” Goldberg said.
“I think he was rushed and didn’t look at the camera most of the time,” Meg Maguire, 81, told Politico. Maguire visited the assisted living facility during Thursday night’s debate.
