Former Presidents Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have thrown their weight behind Vice President Harris’ push to become the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election.
The endorsement, announced in a video by Harris’ campaign, comes at the end of a week in which the vast majority of Democrats, including convention delegates, stood behind Harris after President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he was abandoning his re-election bid. .

In the video, which appears to have been filmed on the campaign trail this week, Harris takes a call from the Obamas.

“We called and said, Michelle and I are very proud to support you and do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” the former president said.
Since leaving office, Obama has proven to be a fundraising force for the Democratic Party. In March, he held a star-studded fundraiser in New York that raised more than $25 million for the Biden-Harris campaign, followed by another in Los Angeles in June that raised more than $28 million.
