Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, joined Democrats on Friday night in calling on President Biden to drop out of the 2024 race.
“At this critical moment, our full attention must return to these important issues. I believe the president should end his campaign,” he said in a statement.
“Over the past few weeks, I have heard from Ohioans on important issues such as how to continue to grow jobs in our state, provide law enforcement with the resources to combat fentanyl, and protect Social Security and Medicare,” Brown said. from spending cuts and block ongoing efforts to ban nationwide abortions.
“I agree with many Ohioans who have reached out to me,” he added.
Brown is the fourth Democratic senator to force Biden from office and the 34th Democratic senator in Congress to do so.

The Ohio Democrat faces an especially tight race in November’s race, where he will face Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, backed by former President Trump.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the Ohio Senate race as a “survival of the fittest,” ranking it with races in Montana, Nevada and Michigan.
