Peacock’s streaming subscription plan will cost more. The NBCUniversal brand is raising prices on its monthly and annual plans, with the changes taking effect this summer. Previously, parent company Comcast announced that the streaming platform would add 3 million paying subscribers in the first quarter of 2024.
Starting July 18, new customers will pay higher subscription prices: $8 per month for Peacock Premium and $14 per month for Peacock Premium Plus — both a $2 increase. The Premium annual plan will rise significantly from $60 to $80 per year, and the Premium Plus plan will rise from $120 to $140 per year. Existing subscribers will see the price increase starting from August 17th.
The move coincides with live streaming of the 2024 Summer Olympics on the Paris platform. The competition will begin on July 26 and run until August 11. Multi-view (allows four simultaneous viewings). In addition, the anchor will also broadcast the NFL’s overseas game between the Eagles and Packers live in St. Paul.
While most major streaming services (including Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, Paramount Plus, Starz, and Apple TV Plus) are raising prices in 2023, Peacock is the first major platform to do so this year. Last July, Peacock raised prices on all plans. The monthly fee for Peacock Premium will increase from $5 to $6, and the monthly fee for Peacock Premium Plus will increase by $2, from $10 to $12. For annual subscriptions, the basic premium plan goes up $10 a year to $60, and the more expensive subscription goes from $100 to $120.
There is still a free, ad-supported tier, but new accounts are not eligible; however, existing subscribers can downgrade their plans. If you have Xfinity Network or Instacart Plus, you may be eligible for free Peacock Premium.
