Fox News lost the loyalty and ratings of many Trump supporters after the 2020 election, but one person at the network appears to have escaped the scorn.
Greg Gutfeld’s late-night show, which features guests taking turns discussing the day’s news, is an absolute blast.
Not only has Gutfeld expanded his reach to younger viewers, he has quadrupled the audience size of the liberal “Daily Show,” which often targets Republicans and conservative outlets.
Media reports:
Fox News’ Greg Gutfield leads cable news among younger viewers, quadrupling Daily Show audience
Fox News announced some major ratings growth for its second season in 2024, at a time when media companies are in a bind.
The network led its competitors for another quarter and posted double-digit growth in every measured category. By comparison, CNN hit 33-year lows in total daily viewers in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos. The network also aired the first debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, which gave them the highest ratings in network history, but it wasn’t enough to significantly boost average demo ratings for the quarter. .
Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters have a lot to celebrate, with the former beating out other late-night shows and the latter making strides to land his 8 p.m. primetime slot highest-rated show, with June being Waters’ highest-rated month ever. The pair also co-hosted “The Five,” which became the largest non-primetime program in cable news for a record 11 consecutive seasons. Fox’s overall ratings account for more than 50% of total daytime ratings and prime-time ratings…
Gutfield! The Daily Show’s total audience has more than quadrupled, and Jon Stewart recently returned to work part-time as host. Gutfeld’s show also doubled The Daily Show’s average audience to 146,000 viewers in the 25-54 hour demo. Gutfeld will broadcast his show live from Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention at 11 p.m.

Congratulations to Mr. Gutfield and his team on this amazing success. It just goes to show how desperate the public is for an alternative to the boring and predictable antics of Colbert and Kimmel.
