new rules by national association of realtors(NAR) Settlement of a class action lawsuit related to buyer’s agent commissions takes effect in just two days, and brokerages and MLSs are scrambling to figure out the best way to implement these settlements.
real brokerage is going all out to prepare its agents as it develops a “playbook” for dealing with new industry realities. The manual includes videos, tools and other resources agents can use to comply with the rule changes.
“We believe the best way to navigate the new rules is through clear communication,” Sharran Srivatsaa, president of Real, said in a statement. “Our focus is on educating and providing resources to all agents. At Real, we start from the ground up. We believe in making all agents’ lives easier, better, and less stressful. By making this education available to everyone, we are elevating the entire industry, which benefits both agents and the consumers they serve.
Real hosted a live webcast “Buyer Representation Workshop for the Future,” which can be viewed on the company’s YouTube channel. In addition to the webcast, agents can download an e-book called “The Buyer’s Agent Guide.”
There is also a resource for customers to learn about future directions for themselves. It includes a white label video and a one-page flyer for agencies to send to clients.
Real is continuing to host live events. On Thursday, it hosted a workshop called the “NAR Objection Handling and Conversation Track,” in which agents could role-play what Real claims are the three most important strategies for submitting a purchase offer.
Next week, the agency will offer daily interactive training and role-playing sessions. Royal Academy head Drew Thompson is hosting many of the above events and will also travel to 10 different cities to provide live training.
