The Seattle Reign announced Monday the signing of forward Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic through the 2025 season.
The 33-year-old Swiss veteran returns to the NWSL from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee.
She played in the league during the 2018-19 season, playing 32 games (26 starts) for the Portland Thorns, scoring 6 goals and 4 assists.
“Ana-Maria is a strong supporter of the national team and a seasoned international player, including in the NWSL, who brings a wealth of experience and talent to our club,” Reign General Manager Lesile Galli Lesle Gallimore said. “Her ability to play in multiple attacking roles, coupled with her knowledge and football acumen, makes her a player who can have an immediate positive impact on the team. We are keen to integrate her into the club.”
Crnogorcevic spent four seasons at Barcelona before spending one at Atletico Madrid, with her team finishing first in La Liga in all four seasons.
“I am delighted to return to one of the top leagues in the world and join the Reign, a team with a long history of success in a competitive environment,” said Cnogorcevic. “I look forward to arriving in Seattle as soon as possible and can’t wait to start working with the team.”
In international competitions, Crnogorcevic is the Swiss’ all-time leader for men’s and women’s appearances (159) and international goals scored (74).
