The Cleveland Browns will re-sign linebacker Jeremy Owusu-Koramoah to a three-year contract extension worth $39 million, according to multiple media reports on Wednesday.
The deal includes $25 million guaranteed for the fourth-year player, who will be selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2023.
Owusu-Koramoah, 24, was a second-round pick out of Notre Dame in 2021 and was scheduled to earn a base salary of $1.5 million in 2024, the final season of his rookie contract.
He started 13 of 16 games in 2023, setting career highs in tackles (101), sacks (3.5) and interceptions (2). ) finished with 247 tackles, 5 sacks, 10 quarterback hits and 5 forced fumbles.
“I think Jeremiah, starting from his rookie year, he’s been playing at a high level,” general manager Andrew Berry said last month. “He’s got matrix athleticism, he’s got rare athletic skills, and he can play behind the line of scrimmage. He’s quick.”
