Pennsylvania is an extremely important swing state. Trump won in 2016 and Biden won in 2020.
If old “Scranton Joe” doesn’t win in November, Democrats think the entire “blue wall” will collapse, and this time, they might be right.
It’s no surprise that Democrats are ramping up ad spending in the coming months.
Hill reports:
Pennsylvania poses problems for ‘Scranton Joe’
President Biden, nicknamed “Scranton Joe,” frequently mentions Pennsylvania in his speeches and his campaign has spent millions of dollars on political ads in the state.
In 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the president had his campaign headquarters in Philadelphia and he visited the state more than any other battleground this cycle…
But now, some Democrats say the state could lead to a breakdown in Biden’s blue wall.
They point to two recent polls showing former President Trump with a slim lead — a near-tie.
But their concern is not the all-important numbers but the erosion occurring within the Democratic base.
A New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer poll released earlier this month showed that Biden’s support among young voters in the state has fallen from 62% to 47% since 2020. His approval rating among black and Hispanic voters also dropped from 71% to 57%.
A recent Cook Political Report poll showed Trump leading Biden by three points in Pennsylvania.

Democrats are right to be worried. Trump has won here before, and he can certainly win again.
