MAGA House Republican Matt Rosendale (R-MT) has filed an amendment to the defense spending bill to eliminate IVF funding.
Below is Rep. Rosendale’s full press release:
Amendment #112: Eliminate funding for assisted reproductive technologies, including any infertility treatments or technologies such as in vitro fertilization, to ensure human life is protected.
“While I sympathize with infertile couples, the practice of IVF is morally wrong and I refuse to support any legislation that would condone its use,” said Rep. Rosendale. “My amendment will defund this practice, which destroys the lives of hundreds of thousands of children every year. If you are against abortion, you should oppose the practice of in vitro fertilization, which destroys lives every year. Planned Parenthood twice.
Republicans are not hiding this. Republicans are not mincing words. The plan was, if they took control of the entire federal government, they would ban in vitro fertilization. The ban on in vitro fertilization for military personnel is just a trial run. If Republicans wanted IVF to remain legal, they wouldn’t try to ban it for members of the military.
At a time when the military is struggling to recruit, there is no worse idea than eliminating IVF treatment as a benefit for military personnel.
Actions speak louder than words, and House Republicans have exposed their true stance on IVF, which is a ban.
