Friedman’s View: Bryce Underwood
this Opponent five stars Additional training camps attended by top prospects this summer gave the analytics team an up-to-date look at many of the nation’s highest-ranked prospects. In my opinion, the difference between Julian Lewis, Bryce Underwood, and Tavion St. Clair is razor-thin. I worry that we’re “over-scrutinizing” Lewis, making too ambitious a prediction for St. Clair, and not fully understanding Underwood’s ability to compete at the high end. Heading into a crucial senior season, I’m going to endorse Underwood, the most physically gifted and experienced of the three quarterbacks, as the top player in Rivals250.

Garcia’s Perspective: Tavern St. Clair
After playing in multiple games this offseason, St. Clair may offer the best combination of physical upside and overall ceiling when looking at this elite group of quarterbacks. There’s no doubting his physical ability, possessing the frame of a classic pocket passer but also possessing modern athletic traits. His multi-sport background allows him to have multiple angles with his arm as needed and make a mechanically smooth delivery. The Ohio State commit is one of the safest bets in the class, but it also feels like there’s considerable room for growth here.

Gorney’s View: Julian Lewis
If this was a game about the biggest quarterback or the most physical talent, I’d go with St. Clair or Underwood. But if this is about the best quarterback in the class, then I’d stick with Lewis at No. 1.
The USC commit, who is still heavily pursued by Colorado, Indiana, Auburn and others, is only supposed to be a junior this upcoming season, and he had a stellar sophomore season in which he has the ability to do Special qualities for making great decisions and avoiding bad throws while being a pocket passer, Lewis has the ability to throw the ball on the run, create and catch with his feet when necessary.
He’s proven it time and time again on the biggest stages. Whether in Opponent five stars Or the Elite 11 games this summer, or a series of 7-on-7 tournaments, or specifically in the tournament, Lewis always excels and continues to prove he’s one of the best players at this level.

Levinson’s Perspective: Tavion St. Clair
At this point in the cycle, with the 2025 prospects entering their senior seasons, I think St. Clair has shown enough to be the No. 1 prospect in the Rivals250. Lewis, the current No. 1 pick, has done nothing wrong in his development, but going forward, I like St. Clair. If you were to develop a quarterback in the lab during this recruiting cycle, chances are it’s going to look like St. Clair, and therefore, I feel like moving up is justified. He has an NFL frame at 6-foot-4, 228 pounds, and he played in the Elite 11 Finals and Opponent five stars this offseason. Given his arm talent and the elite array of weapons he’ll possess, it’s easy to imagine him finding early success at Ohio State.

Smith’s View: Tavion St. Clair
St. Clair is the complete package at quarterback. He’s big and can make all the shots on the court. The future Buckeye can really push the ball downfield with his big arms, but he’s also good at passing and layering passes. His running ability is currently underrated, but it’s a real asset. The scariest thing about it now and against Big Ten opponents is that he’s still getting better. The Ohio native is an elite player who looks like a future NFL quarterback.

Spiegelman’s View: Tavion St. Clair or Bryce Underwood
This is a question I keep thinking about over and over again. As their senior seasons begin, two rookies are taking center stage – St. Clair and Underwood. St. Clair has been impressive in the frontcourt, with a nimble arm and good vision, which he put on full display during the game. Opponent five stars earlier this summer. Underwood may be the best athlete in the country as well as the best quarterback. During LSU’s Friday Night Lights, Underwood was on the ball in camp, getting the ball into tight windows multiple times and passing the ball at a high level in 7-on-7 segments. St. Clair and Underwood both have a case, and I think that will become clearer later in the fall.
