De Niro films:
After hearing the man call the police officers traitors, De Niro said, “Are they traitors?” I don’t even know how to deal with you, my friend. There they stood. They don’t have to do this. They stand there and fight for us. They fight for you, man. You can stand here. They are the real heroes. I am honored to be with these two heroes today.
The real traitors are the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol and sought to destroy democracy. Those law enforcement officers who risked their lives and were outnumbered and injured during mob attacks incited by the former president were the real heroes of that era.
Michael Fanon, Harry Dunn and many others were outnumbered and risked their lives to protect democracy and our elected representatives.
Those who believe these acts were treasonous are grossly misinformed and downright wrong.
The day Robert De Niro defended those who defend our rights, and the Trump supporters who were brainwashed into thinking he was shouting treason is an example of how Trump is mobilizing the Republican Party to pose a threat to democracy.
President Biden has once again demonstrated his administration’s commitment to improving people’s lives.
Biden is delivering on his promises and showing what a good, thoughtful government can do to help people.
