As the world begins to prepare for inevitable peace negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, along a nearly 1,000-mile-long front line, Russian Federation forces advance while Ukrainian defense forces are overwhelmed and outmaneuvered to resist.
Now the Russians have captured the village of Urozainoye in Donetsk.
While the area itself is not as strategic as a stronghold like Chasov Yar, it was one of the few places the Ukrainians conquered in a failed summer offensive 11 months ago.
The Russian Defense Ministry officially announced that its forces had occupied Urozainoye and were currently “clearing and demining” it.
Reuters reports:
“Urozhaynoye is located in the southern part of the East Donetsk region, close to the Zaporozhye border. It has long been the scene of fierce conflicts with the neighboring village of Staromaiorske.

Russia is making almost daily advances on the front, maintaining pressure on eastern Ukraine and advancing northeastward into the Kharkov region.
The Telegraph reports:
“If the so-called victory is confirmed, it would be one of the first gains Moscow’s forces have achieved in the Donetsk region after the fall of the strategic hilltop city of Chasov Yar earlier this month following months of bombardment. The latest in a series of costly results.
