The former officially wraps things up with a feature-length film in May, while RWBY The final season found itself in a strange predicament after it moved to Crunchyroll last year.
But the story of the animated series isn’t over yet. During Anime Expo this weekend, Viz Media revealed that it has increased RWBY Completely, including the show’s eventual return. Discussions about what will happen next for the series are currently ongoing, but a piece of concept art from longtime artist Erin Winn suggests that Weisz hopes the show will pit the characters against the long-running series big bad Salem.
Viz has worked with RWBY Because it has published various comic spin-offs of the series over the years, as well as a compendium book. In a blog post about the show’s future, Viz hinted that it plans to go all out on “more great stories.” It also specifically states that Shawcross will still be involved in the show’s “next phase,” but makes no mention of any returning staff members like longtime co-writer Miles Luna, Kiersey Burkhardt or Eddie Rivas.
