Ryan Phillippe looks back fondly on his time with Reese Witherspoon.
The “Prey” star took to his Instagram Story on Monday to share a photo of himself posing with his ex-wife.
“We’re hot and wet in the angst of the late 90s,” Philippe wrote alongside the photo. “Much cooler than today.”
Philip and Witherspoon were married from 1999 to 2008 and have daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20.

In a March interview with Fox News Digital, Philip reflected on his “easy” co-parenting relationship with the “Sweet Home Alabama” actress and shared what it’s like to parent with Witherspoon as their children grow up Does the child become less challenging.
“Yes and no,” the “Crash” star said. “We never really had a hard time. We were always so loyal, even though we weren’t together anymore.”

Philip continued, “It makes it easy. They are the priority. You see a lot of times, in these chaotic situations, that’s not the case and the kids are used as pawns or as a way to harm the other parent. way, and we’ve never done anything like that.
“We never had a bad word to say about each other,” he added. “We have been united in supporting them and now they are adults.
“But she and I have a friendship and we still talk on the phone about various things in their lives, and it works great.”
Phillip also shared his advice for kids developing careers in Hollywood. The actor is also dad to 12-year-old daughter Kai, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp. Witherspoon has 11-year-old son Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth.

The “Lincoln Lawyer” star said he believed he and Witherspoon set “a great example” for Ava and Deacon.
“They saw how their mother and I did it, how we treated others, how we tried to be true to ourselves, how we didn’t let it affect us in a strong negative way,” he explained. “We’re not done yet, this is our whole life.”
Phillip continued, “Obviously there’s a lot more to life than Hollywood or entertainment. I always tell people I work to live, not live to work. I’m not limited by this industry. I love it. I’m passionate about it. It’s passionate.

“Ultimately, you want your kids to be happy,” he added. “You want them to be true to who they are. You want them to build confidence. That doesn’t mean being obnoxious or arrogant, but knowing who they are and not wavering because there’s no need to.”
“In a sense, everyone is lost. As I get older, the judgment of others means less and less to me. Everyone is trying to figure things out. Everyone is on their own path. So I think reinforcing those ideas is part of it.”
