The summer 2024 launch of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked came and went without many surprises, but Samsung device users got some news about upcoming artificial intelligence features.
Specifically, Samsung is working with Google to borrow some of its artificial intelligence capabilities. In a blog post posted alongside the live event, Google confirmed that the new Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 will get Circle to Search, with its translation and homework help features intact. According to the blog post, other unspecified Samsung devices will also get these features later this year.

Google features coming to Samsung devices
If you’re not familiar with Circle Search, it’s a recent innovation from Google that allows you to draw a circle around something on your screen and then let Google’s artificial intelligence get more information about it for you. Samsung’s foldable phone will be able to do this, but that’s not all.
Mix and match speed of light
Circle to Search also enables full-screen translation, meaning users can theoretically circle an entire restaurant menu in another language and have the full menu returned in the language of their choice. There is also a way to have students circle problems such as math problems and have artificial intelligence help them solve them. Google also promises that later in July, you’ll also be able to use Circle to search for barcodes and QR codes on your screen.
Remember, kids, don’t make it too obvious that a chatbot can help you with your homework.
