When he caught up with her, he grabbed her and threw her to the floor, causing her to drop some of her luggage.
He kicked her as she fell to the ground, then picked up her bag and kicked her a second time before trying to drag her away by her shirt.
The attacker left for a moment, then returned and pushed Ms. Ventura to her feet. He then sat on a chair near the elevator and threw an object.
Douglas Wigdor, an attorney for Ms. Ventura, the R&B singer, said in a statement: “This harrowing video is further evidence of Mr. Combs’ disturbing and predatory behavior.
“Words cannot express the courage and perseverance that Ms. Ventura showed in coming forward to expose this incident.”
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said Friday that the attack captured on video may be too old to prosecute.
“We find these images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” the company said in a statement.
“If the conduct described had occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would not be able to lay charges as it occurred outside the time limit within which an assault charge can be prosecuted.”
In a now-settled federal lawsuit last year, Ms. Ventura claimed that “in or about March 2016,” Mr. Combs “became extremely drunk and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, knocking her My eyes are swollen.”
“Ms. Ventura fell asleep and attempted to leave the hotel room, but as she left, Mr. Combs woke up and began screaming at Ms. Ventura.
“He followed her into the hotel hallway, yelling at her. He grabbed her, then picked up a glass vase in the hallway and threw it at her, causing the glass to shatter around her as she ran toward the elevator to escape,” the documents state. .
The suit claims the rap mogul bought the footage from the hotel for $50,000 (£39,000).
Her legal action against Mr Combs, accusing him of rape and sex trafficking for more than a decade, was filed in November and settled a day later for an undisclosed amount.
Combs’ attorney, Benjamin Brafman, said at the time that the settlement was “in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”
“Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit in no way affects his categorical denial of the allegations. He is pleased that they have reached a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”
Since then, several other women have filed lawsuits accusing the rapper of sexual misconduct.
Last month, his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, Florida, were raided as part of a federal human trafficking investigation.
Ms. Ventura was officially signed to Mr. Combs’ record label, Bad Boy, and released a number of hit songs in the 2000s, including one featuring Diddy.
Her best-known songs include “Me & U,” “Long Way to Go” and “Official Girl,” a collaboration with Lil Wayne.
